“Art can potentially be a doorway to the Ambient Dead. Haitian artist Lesly Pierrepaul infuses his art with a rare magical Ojas which creates living realms of Being.”
The Cult is Alive, by Haitian Artist and Teacher at the New Vision Art School in Port-Au-Prince, Lesly Pierrepaul, is a painting inspired by the visionary text from author Craig Williams: The Cult of Golgotha.

Lesly describes his work and vision for ‘The Cult is Alive’ with these simple words:
“The central symbol, to which your eye is primally drawn at first, represents the World in unison and connected to the Spirits, and above it, the Golgotha crosses that controls them…
The present painting contains veves symbolizing the main loas pertinent to the Cult of Golgotha:
In Haitian Vodou, Papa Legba is a loa who serves as the intermediary between the rest of the loas and humanity. He stands at the spiritual crossroads and gives (or denies) permission to speak with the spirits and is believed to speak all human languages.
Bawon Samedi is a loa of the dead, and he is living in the cemetery, as the Master of the dead.
Ogun Feray is a warrior and a powerful spirit of metalwork, he presides over fire, iron, and war. As such, he is the boss of all blacksmiths, as well as of patron-saint of rum and rum-making. He is also known as the God of Iron.”
