Why Kickstarter?Most Anathema titles are released through a traditional pre-order phase. For this particular book, being especially expensive to produce, however, Kickstarter allows us to do something special: produce the volume in two distinct color palettes, giving readers the ability to choose the visual presentation they prefer. Managing this through a conventional pre-order model would be difficult. The campaign format also makes it possible to produce additional peripheral items, depending on the number of pledges received and the funds raised. Campaign TimelineWe plan to launch the Kickstarter mid-April, where it will run for 30 days. If you would like to see this project come to life, we encourage you to participate and pledge during that window. In the meantime, prototype production is already underway so we can ensure the final book meets our expectations for quality and design. Lessons LearnedOur previous Kickstarter for Semesilam and IAO: Ophite Iconography was ultimately very successful, though the scale of the project created logistical challenges along the way. With the generous support of many readers and supporters, we resolved those issues and learned valuable lessons. For this new campaign we have made several improvements: Taxes and shipping will be collected after the campaign, during fulfillment Kickstarter’s pledge manager tools have improved significantly The campaign itself will be simpler and easier to manage, with fewer items offered
